Finery of the Everyday
Oct. 20, 2018
After yesterday's rains, there were heavy fog and heavy dew this morning when I let the dogs out to tend to their day's preliminaries. Either fog or dew alone will startle the bats in a photographer's belfry, but fog and dew together are enough to send them flying off to echolocate some choice delicacies for the camera to delight in.
So I happened upon this tiny structure of spider silk decorated with morning dew in one of the openings in the wire mesh of the dog pen on the porch, and after feeding the dogs, I stood behind the tripod and camera and set about capturing in the digital amber of a photograph this gossamer jewelry of an hour.
